Aerial Ropeways

Ropeway of Andermatt-Gemstock

Reciprocating transport system

A ropeway is a reciprocating motion aerial cable transport system.

This type of installation easily bridges major natural obstacles.

The great strength and the low maintenance requirements of this type of installation were the key selection factors of many of the transport systems constructed in high mountain areas.

Structure

Ropeways require significant permanent structures.

For the construction thereof, our Company provides:

  • project management services
  • structural calculation notes and construction drawings
  • on site checks and financial monitoring of the project
  • safety plans and operation manuals
  • startup of the installation

We are giving special attention to the following:

  • concrete foundations of buildings and pylons
  • structural components (steel or concrete) of the stations
  • steel structure of pylons and cable support skids
  • anchor blocks for carrying cables
